How Georgie Young Transformed Her Lifestyle, Reclaimed Her Health, and Built a Career in Coaching

Over a decade ago, Georgie Young discovered the Paleo diet online. At the time, ancestral health resources in the UK were scarce, so Mark’s Daily Apple became her foundation. By making dramatic lifestyle changes, Georgie achieved something remarkable: her autoimmune disease went into remission within a year.

By following PHCI principles Georgie Young has become stronger, healthier, and deeply grateful.

That transformation inspired her to share what she had learned. In 2013, she launched Greens of the Stone Age, a blog filled with primal recipes and articles that helped introduce Paleo to a UK audience. The blog became a huge success and connected her with thousands of people who were also looking for a better path to health. But despite its popularity, it wasn’t financially sustainable.

Georgie pivoted into freelancing for a global corporate company. While the work paid the bills, it came at the expense of her health and lifestyle. Her diet began to slip, her training lost consistency, and the long hours left her drained. Most importantly, she no longer felt she was helping others live longer, healthier lives—the very mission that had first inspired her.

Determined to get back on track, Georgie reached out to the Primal Health Coach Institute (PHCI). She applied for a scholarship and was awarded one, describing the opportunity as a dream come true.

Georgie Young loves to move her body in various ways.

Facing Cancer with Lifestyle and Longevity Principles

In April of this year, Georgie faced her toughest challenge yet: a diagnosis of stage 2 tonsil cancer. Treatment was grueling. Chemotherapy caused severe weight loss—12 kilograms in total—and forced her onto a feeding tube. Doctors recommended supplemental drinks, but Georgie refused. They were filled with seed oils and glucose, which didn’t align with the ancestral lifestyle that had already saved her once.

Instead, she designed her own nutrient-dense blends, staying as close as possible to primal eating. By keeping lifestyle and longevity at the center of her healing, she astonished her doctors. Just one month after finishing chemo, she was recovering six times faster than the average patient, and her medical team requested to remove her feeding tube.

Georgie attributes her resilience to the primal principles she had practiced for over a decade—principles that carried her through autoimmune remission and cancer recovery.

Today, she is focused on returning to health coaching full time. Her goal is to make coaching her main source of income while helping others transform their lifestyles, reclaim their health, and extend their longevity.

How Georgie Lives the PHCI Principles

For Georgie, the PHCI principles of lifestyle and longevity are more than a framework for coaching—they are the foundation of her daily life:

  • Eat Plants and Animals: Georgie grew up vegetarian before transitioning through pescatarianism and ultimately embracing a primal diet. Today, she enjoys a balance of plants and quality meats that support strength and recovery.
  • Play: Joyful movement is central to her lifestyle. Martial arts—Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai—keep her active, while monkey bars and playing with her child add variety and fun.
  • Lift Heavy Things: Georgie prefers primal strength training over gym workouts. At home, she swings kettlebells, sometimes lifting as much as 64kg, building resilience that supports longevity.
  • Use Your Brain: For Georgie, mental fitness is non-negotiable. She fuels her brain with nutrient-dense foods and keeps it sharp with mindfulness, meditation, reading, and continuous learning—from guitar to nunchucks.

Words of Advice for Future Coaches

Georgie encourages aspiring health coaches to believe in themselves and take the leap.

“Don’t let imposter syndrome hold you back,” she advises. “Practice with friends, lean on the supportive PHCI community, and take each day step by step. You’ve got this.”

Her perspective highlights the power of coaching—not only as a career, but as a way to change lives, beginning with your own.

A Proud Moment

When reflecting on her journey, Georgie points to her own healing as her proudest achievement. Coaching herself through cancer by living primal principles reaffirmed the power of lifestyle medicine and health coaching.

“Nobody is immune to life’s toughest challenges,” Georgie says. “But by following PHCI principles and coaching myself through such a difficult ordeal, I came out stronger, healthier, and deeply grateful.”

Although recovery continues, Georgie remains active and optimistic. She is committed to using her own story as proof of how coaching, lifestyle, and longevity principles can transform health and quality of life.

Georgie Young’s journey shows that health coaching isn’t just about building a business—it’s about building a lifestyle that fosters resilience, extends longevity, and empowers others to thrive.
